Website
When an event has its own web page, the title in the event's detail view links to it. The link opens in a new tab and carries a small arrow after the title. Cards and the month, week and day views are unchanged.
The website directive
#already:website:https://www.aclfestival.com/The value is the page to link. Like every URL-valued directive, it also appears as a Website button beside the event's other links.
Without the directive
The title links to the first plain web link in the description. Links that already become buttons do not count: Instagram, Eventbrite, Zoom, Google Maps and the other platform links, images and attachments are set aside first, and whatever http or https link comes first in what remains is the website. Punctuation around the link in your sentence is ignored, so Details: https://www.aclfestival.com/. links to https://www.aclfestival.com/.
Only the first remaining link is considered. If the first link in a description is not the event's page (a Google Doc, a short link, a sponsor), add the directive and it wins.
An event with no directive and no plain link keeps a plain title.
